Every family doesn’t have access to a private tutor. Our Study Groups help ensure every student can still make top grades in academic, Honors, and AP classes.
IMANI organizes study groups for students in Grades 9-12. Our tutoring sessions provide supplemental instruction to help students succeed academically in Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors level courses while feeling connected to the school community.
Many students who take part in IMANI’s Study Groups improve their academic performance by a letter grade or more.
IMANI Study Groups offer MHS teacher-led instruction in Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, English, Science, and History every week. Every session is led by certified high school teachers or professionals with formal training in the subject area in which they are tutoring.
Study Groups provide a safe learning environment for peer mentoring and tutoring.
This helps students:
- Develop more confidence in their ability to succeed in Advanced Placement and Honors level courses
- Gain familiarity asking questions about challenging concepts
- Attain a better grasp of subject matter
- Feel less isolated in their respective classrooms.
IMANI Study Groups are held every Sunday afternoon between 2-4 pm at the main Montclair Public Library: 50 South Fullerton Ave, Montclair, NJ.
Study Groups begin Sunday October 18th and continue through June 2027 to support students’ full school year needs.
